Employee Relocation to the South of France

DT Moving are the removals to France experts and have successfully been moving tens of thousands of people to their new homes abroad since 1870. We regularly win awards - recently we were further recognised for exceptional corporate relocation services at The MIGroup’s annual Worldwide Partner Network Awards. This is our seventh award in the past three years.

We believe in exceptional value and customer care. We work by appointing a move manager to take care of every stage of a relocation from the pre-move survey right through to finish - including answering questions you may have with moving to the South of France.

*These times are subject to no major delays during vessel sailing and delivery.

Living in the South of France

With its charming beaches and idyllic scenery, it’s no wonder the South of France continues to attract migrants in search of a new way of life. The region has a number of prehistoric sites (such as at Megaliths and Menhirs), cave art and Roman structures. Spain’s influence can be seen with the area holding many festivals.

Languedoc is now the largest wine producing region in the world. Wine making - first introduced by the Romans - generally has the highest number of job openings, followed by opportunities for maintenance technicians, and restaurant staff.

Buying a French property

As a general rule you do not need to appointment a solicitor or avocat but you do need to be careful. Make sure, however, that you have good knowledge of French and if you are not sure do seek assistance with translation. Get as much advice as you can.

Taxes

Called impôts, you must pay French taxes if you become a resident of France. Apart from those holding a residence permit, you have to pay tax if you spend more than 182 days in France during a calendar year, if France is the country you live in more than any other.

It's best to seek expert advice before filling in your tax form. For more information contact imports.gouv.fr
